3 December 2004
The Hong Kong Arts Festival's half price student tickets are on sale beginning from 4 December. The half-price student tickets are available to all full-time students.
Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Charles Lee, said "We are particularly pleased about the strong support from the corporate sector and from many private individual donors for this worthwhile scheme. Over the years, half-price student tickets have meant that the Festival is more accessible to young people and last year close to 9,000 tickets were made available. This is an investment in the audiences of the future."
Individual philanthropists and good corporate citizens have shared the same vision as the Hong Kong Arts Festival in making arts events accessible for young people. Under the Student Ticket Scheme corporate and individual donations are combined to subsidise reduced price Arts Festival tickets for students. This year there are five Platinum Award Donors, namely Citigroup, HSBC, CC Wu Cultural & Education Foundation Fund, Zegna Cultural Foundation and an anonymous donor, as well as many individual philanthropists to whom we are deeply grateful.
Douglas Gautier, Executive Director of the Festival, said, "This is a rewarding cooperative venture for all involved. Over its thirty-three year history, the Hong Kong Arts Festival has been consistently interested in involving young people – indeed many of our continuing ‘Festival Friends' and patrons had their first Festival-going experiences via our Student Ticket Scheme."
Student Tickets sales to the 2005 Hong Kong Arts Festival will commence on 4 December at all URBTIX and HK Ticketing outlets.
