The twin sisters Chau Lok-ping and Chau Lok-ting quickly emerged onto the international scene as one of the best Hong Kong piano duos after winning the First Prize and Best Performance Prize — for Lutosławski’s Paganini Variations — at the 2008 International Piano Duo Competition in Białystok, Poland. They have also won numerous prizes individually, as both are hugely gifted soloists.
Performing together professionally since 2008, the twins have toured Poland, Israel and mainland China. With an almost preternatural understanding of each other’s tonal feel they bring joy to the rolling swells of Bizet’s Jeux d’enfants, a delicate touch to Greg Anderson’s romantic Carmen Fantasy and otherworldliness to Rachmaninov’s dreamy Suite No 1.
