About This Programme

Over the course of a 40-year career, Ton Koopman has appeared at prestigious concert halls and international festivals on five continents. As an organist, he has performed on the most important historical instruments in Europe.

After a classical education he studied musicology in Amsterdam and excelled at playing both the organ and the harpsichord. He was subsequently awarded the Prix d’Excellence for performance on these instruments. Almost from the beginning of his musical studies he was fascinated by authentic instruments. His prolific recording catalogue includes the complete works of Buxtehude and the complete cycle of Bach’s cantatas.

For the first time, Koopman will play the organ in Hong Kong as part of the HKAF. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear the maestro.
