Sergio Tiempo - Piano Masterclass
22 Feb 2009 4:00 - 6:00pm 60 FREE audience tickets can be collected from 20 December 2008 at the Festival Information Counter at Hong Kong Cultural Centre on a first-come, first-served basis. Sergio Tiempo quickly rose to international prominence after making his professional debut at the age of 14 in the “Great Pianists” series at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in 1986. His awards include the 1986 Alex De Vries Prize of Belgium and the Davidoff 2000 Prize in Germany. He plays at various major international music festivals, most recently making his debut at the Salzburg Festival in both concerto and chamber concerts. He has also appeared at the Schleswig-Holstein, Colmar, Verbier and Toulouse Festivals, and last season was invited to the Dias da Musica festival in Lisbon for concerto and recital performances. Tiempo has performed under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Gustavo Dudamel, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Leonard Slatkin and Michael Tilson Thomas, and worked with orchestras including Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Montreal Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic. Baroque Costumes and Wigs - Backstage Guided Tour

Explanations will be given about authentic Baroque costumes and the stylization of these costumes in the context of the performance.
