Follow Yue opera superstar Mao Weitao to Shengzhou, the place where Yue opera began.

Yue opera superstar Mao Weitao returned to the place where Yue opera began, Shengzhou, with young Yue opera actresses in June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opera company she leads, Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe. They were warmly welcomed by fans, Shengzhou local and visiting media.

Yue opera is the only Chinese opera that features all-female troupes and the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua is foremost among them. Known for their poetic and graceful singing, the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua under leadership of Mao Weitao, is also innovative and experimental.
