The 43rd HKAF Kick-off Press Conference

Three weeks ago on 15 October, the Japan Art Association in Tokyo presented Arvo Pärt with the prestigious Praemium Imperiale cultural award, considered equal to the Nobel Prize in the field of culture. The Imperiale prize has been presented since 1989 by the Japanese imperial family through the Japan Art Association. Hitachi, Prince of Japan, and honorary patron of the association personally presented Pärt with the award.

In celebration of Pärt’s 80th birthday in 2015, Theatre of Voices performs a programme of the composers’s most beautiful choral music.
