[Important Notice] The Mikhailovsky Ballet of St Petersburg, Russia will replace the Berlin State Ballet to perform The Sleeping Beauty at the 44th HKAF in 2016. The Berlin State Ballet has decided to withdraw their performances in Hong Kong due to unforeseen circumstances within their company.

The 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) celebrates its Official Finale on 28 March with a performance of Jewels by the Bolshoi Ballet. This year’s HKAF presents over 1,400 acclaimed artists from at home and around the world in 137 performances. Of the 111,900 available tickets, estimated sale is 106,000, representing an average attendance of 95%. The total audience number is estimated at 117,000, including 11,000 Young Friends. A total of 16 new works/world premieres and 10 Asian premieres have been presented. A performance of Drama Queens by mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato is still to come on 6 May.

The 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) officially opens on 27 Feb with a performance by Christian Thielemann and the Staatskapelle Dresden. This year’s HKAF presents about 1,500 acclaimed artists from around the world in 137 performances, including 16 new works/world premieres and 10 Asian premieres. Of the 110,000 available tickets, over 98,000 (88 percent) have been sold as of 27 Feb.
