“Tremendous clarity, unfailing musicality and considerable beauty” BBC Music Magazine
Following Russian wunderkind Pavel Kolesnikov’s Wigmore Hall debut in 2014, The Telegraph gave his recital a rare five-star review and called it “ one of the most memorable of such occasions London has witnessed in a while”. Prize Laureate of the Honens Prize for Piano in 2012, Kolesnikov has performed around the world and is the recipient of the Milstein Medal, a member of BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists, RCM Benjamin Britten Piano Fellow (2015–2016) and the winner of the Diapason D’Or Award 2016. In his Hong Kong debut, Kolesnikov will play Chopin’s Piano Concerto No 2 under the baton of Hong Kong Sinfonietta Music Director Yip Wing-sie.
The concert also features Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No 3 and the world premiere of Alexander Goehr’s The Master Said for narrator and orchestra. Not to be missed.
