The Argentinian composer and bandoneon player, Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) is an influential figure who drastically revolutionized tango. In this film, his son, Daniel Piazzolla, reveals previously unpublished footages and audio recordings from the family’s private collection, exposing Piazzolla as a headstrong, complex, yet passionate artist. Through in-depth conversations of Astor and his family, the audience could delve into the thoughts of the legendary Tango master.

In celebration of the composer’s centennial, there will be a pre-screening music demonstration by Fernando Rezk introducing the key instrument in Argentine tango music: bandoneon.

According to the government’s latest social distancing measures, no live performance is allowed in cinemas, the live demonstration section has therefore been cancelled.
