History-making Grammy winner’s sublime musicianship
INTRODUCTIONAmerican drummer Terri Lyne Carrington heads a team of top jazz instrumentalists and spotlights powerful vocalists Jaguar Wright and Charenée Wade in a sizzling programme of love songs, R&B, and soul classics. A three-time Grammy Award winner, twice for Best Jazz Vocal Album, in 2013 she became the first woman to win Best Jazz Instrumental Album.
Love and Soul is her latest, smash hit project; a place where funk, rock and jazz are one. Terri Lyne Carrington has played with such musically diverse legends as Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Carlos Santana, Joni Mitchell and Yellowjackets. She quotes hip hop and rap stars Missy Elliot, Q-Tip and Questlove as newer influences. This consummate performer is also a professor at Berklee College of Music and a successful music producer.
