The Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF), launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting annually in February and March leading local and international artists in all genres of the performing arts as well as a diverse range of "PLUS" and educational events.
HKAF is a non-profit organisation, and presenting the Festival every year requires considerable financial resources. Secured government baseline funding represents roughly 15.6% of the HK$110 million budget of the 45th Festival in 2017. Around 32% of the Festival’s annual income comes from the box office, and another 35% comes from sponsorships and donations from corporations, individuals, and charitable foundations. It is anticipated that the remaining 17.4% will come from the Government’s new matching scheme, which matches income generated through private sector sponsorships and donations.
Your generous support will enable the Festival to continue to bring top international artists to Hong Kong, nurture local talents, encourage cultural exchange and provide more quality arts education events for the younger generation.
