K-pop anthems on a symphonic scale
The Hankyung arte Philharmonic brings three concerts of K-pop favourites re-imagined for orchestra, where familiar songs take on sweeping new dimensions awash in orchestral colour.
Each concert opens with purely instrumental music, drawing from the past few decades of SM Entertainment’s back catalogue, including songs by TVXQ!, SUPER JUNIOR, Girls’ Generation, EXO, Red Velvet, SHINee, NCT DREAM and aespa. The orchestra is then joined by two guest vocalists in different performances: SUPER JUNIOR’s RYEOWOOK brings a soaring, emotionally direct voice that moves fluidly between registers; while Red Velvet’s WENDY is known for her crystal-clear tone and explosive power, equally commanding in restrained ballads and bright pop.
On the podium is Yuwon Kim, the first Korean and first woman to receive the Robert Spano Conductor Prize at the Aspen Music Festival, bringing classical flair to songs millions know by heart.

K-pop has long captivated listeners throughout the world and across the generations—now imagine the sparks that will fly when it enters the concert hall. Following its appearance at the 2024 Hong Kong Arts Festival, Seoul’s Hankyung arte Philharmonic returns in a new partnership with SM Classics—the classical label of K-pop giant SM Entertainment—for a concert series that brings the vibrant world of K-pop music to the Festival stage. Scored for strings, woodwind, brass and percussion, the songs take on a lush, romantic grandeur, providing a new listening experience whether you’ve loved them for years or are discovering them for the first time.
