Inspired by the lives of historical figures, Amadeus imagines a rivalry between two 18th-century Vienna composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. This film won eight Oscars in 1985, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Sound. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields recorded this film’s original soundtrack.

To coincide with the 54th Hong Kong Arts Festival performances by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, as well as by Sir John Eliot Gardiner, the authoritative interpreter of Mozart, Festival PLUS presents a special screening of Amadeus in restored 4K, inviting audiences to revisit this unforgettable classic on the big screen.
