This one-day cultural trip to Macau includes a performance by Portugal’s acclaimed Gulbenkian Choir, which is bringing three performances to the Hong Kong Arts Festival. As a meeting point of Chinese and Portuguese cultures, Macau offers a unique East-meets-West combination of cuisine, architecture and traditional customs. The tour will explore the historical development of Sino-Portuguese culture and religion in the city. Participants will visit Bairro de São Lázaro, a place full of religious and social significance, as well as iconic landmarks such as churches, in addition to taking a cooking class to sample some of the best-known Macanese dishes. To round off this culturally rich experience, participants will enjoy a short concert performed by the Gulbenkian Choir, an internationally renowned ensemble which will appear in Hong Kong Arts Festival concerts on 4 and 5 March.
