The Gulbenkian Choir, one of Portugal’s leading vocal ensembles, visits Macau for a cultural exchange, offering a short but radiant, uplifting a cappella programme of Bach alongside choral works by Portuguese composers.

Gulbenkian Choir

Founded in 1964, the Gulbenkian Choir is a large symphonic choir of about 100 singers that also appears in smaller vocal formations. Its repertoire spans classical, Romantic and contemporary choral‑symphonic works, and includes numerous 20th‑century premieres. The choir frequently collaborates with leading international orchestras and renowned conductors such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, the London Philharmonic, Claudio Abbado and Esa‑Pekka Salonen.
