The Canadian troupe The 7 Fingers presents a bold and electrifying fusion of acrobatics, dance and music. Inspired by Romeo and Juliet, this romantic yet high-octane production transforms the stage into a sports arena of love and rivalry, reimagining classic circus arts with thrilling intensity and emotional depth.
Where the thrill of the circus meets the romance of Shakespeare
If we could defy gravity, could we escape the tragic pull of fate? In a world spinning out of control, is the power of love strong enough for us to hold on to reality?
Created by The 7 Fingers (Les 7 Doigts), a collective of world-class artists based in Quebec, Canada, Duel Reality is a bold and electrifying fusion of the contemporary circus and theatre arts. After captivating audiences in 2018 with Bosch Dreams, a surreal collaboration with Denmark’s Theatre Republique, it now takes on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet—but not as you’ve ever seen it before.
This is Shakespeare re-imagined through acrobatics: a high-octane, emotionally charged spectacle where timeless themes of love and rivalry are played out in midair. Think red versus blue, family feuds turned into physical showdowns. Featuring the diabolo, juggling, Chinese poles, teeterboards, hula hoops—each act is a strategic move in a poetic battle of hearts.
Performers weave the Shakespearean dialogue into their choreography, every gesture packed with drama and wit. Expect breathtaking flips, daring aerial stunts, and moments of romantic beauty. No words are needed—body language becomes the ultimate storyteller, capturing the complexity of human emotion and connection.
Set to a dynamic soundtrack blending classical music, jazz and pulsing beats, this is a circus unlike anything you’ve ever seen: visceral, elegant and moving. A love story told through motion, where every leap is a risk, and every landing a triumph.
Meet-the-Artist session will be held after the performance on 21 Mar (Sat).
Advance bookings will start at 10am on 16 October 2025
