Investing in the Future

The Hong Kong Arts Festival Foundation is established to sustain a cultural icon and to secure the Festival’s future as a major international arts festival based in Hong Kong, connecting China and the world.

The Festival Foundation will support the Festival’s large scale projects including, in the longer-term, the development of the Festival Centre, creating a transformative impact on Hong Kong, making performing arts an even more significant part of our society. It will also make possible special projects which the Festival’s annual budget cannot cater for.

The Festival Centre will nurture and cultivate:
  • Audiences through providing suitable spaces for long-term outreach and education projects;
  • Artists through Artists-in-Residence programmes, and providing spaces and platforms for sharing creative ideas among local and international artists;
  • Works through providing the necessary environment to artists to incubate the works before formally applying for funding or turning works into bigger scale projects
