Ralph van Raat plays
Keith Jarrett’s The Köln Concert

A legendary album, live on stage
Jazz piano legend Keith Jarrett improvised The Köln Concert once, in 1975, and never played it again—the act itself was unrepeatable. But the music endures: recording published, musical notes transcribed and printed in full. Dutch pianist and musicologist Ralph van Raat performs it complete, note for note, approaching it as he would a classical masterwork—his artistry revealed in phrasing, timing, colour and dynamics. A Steinway Artist with “near-hypnotic control” (International Piano magazine), he has collaborated with composers from John Adams to Arvo Pärt, and appeared with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra.
The recording preserves a moment. On stage, the music unfolds again in real time: an hour of intimacy and trance-like tension, just as the audience felt it in 1975.
There will be a Meet-the-Artist session after the performance.
Advance Bookings will start at 10am on 7 October 2026
